NPTV–VVRO Webinars: Home Hospitalization in Oncology

Interested in joining the collaboration, learning from others, or starting home hospitalization in your hospital? Join our webinars

With a legal framework for home hospitalization for anti-tumor agents since July 2023, the Dutch-speaking Platform for Home Nurses (NPTV) and the Association of Radiotherapy and Oncology Nurses (VVRO), together with several (Flemish) hospitals, have been joining forces to support the implementation of home hospitalization for oncology for Flemish patients. The first training days for primary care nurses in West Flanders, East Flanders, and Flemish Brabant took place in June, focusing on (mainly) subcutaneous treatments (trastuzumab, bortezomib, daratumumab, azacitidine and fulvestrant IM). This fall, we will organize training in Antwerp and Limburg as well.

The NPTV-VVRO-hospitals working group is firmly committed to strong collaboration across primary care organizations and hospitals to support the high-quality and sustainable implementation of home hospitalization for antitumor agents.

The working group organizes 2 webinars to provide an update on our initiatives regarding training and information materials for home nurses, coordination of care requests and data sharing, and the transmural care pathway for home hospitalization in oncology. You are welcome to join us at one of the following times:

Does your hospital already have some experience with home hospitalization but are you not yet aware of this collaboration?

Is your hospital preparing for the implementation of home hospitalization? Would you like to join forces?

Or is home hospitalization not systematically offered in your hospital, but would you like to make it possible for some (e.g., less mobile) patients?

We hope to meet you at one of our webinars. If earlier questions, we encourage you to contact us: onco@nptv.be | info@vvro.be
