Amginy Award

This award has been made possible with an unrestricted grant from Amgen to support the optimisation of care for patients thanks to the use of advanced technologies (AI, big data...).

The call for applications for the AMGINY Award 2025 is now CLOSED.


The “Amginy Award” jury will select only one innovative project that will contribute to the optimisation of care for patients thanks to the use of advanced technologies (AI, big data...). The winning project will be awarded with 20.000 EUR.

The award ceremony will take place during 40th BHS general annual meeting on February 7-8, 2025.

Participation requirements

The application must preferably be written in English* and must consist of :

  • Description of the research project a budget estimate and time frame (max. 3 pages) - Detailed project form Amginy Award 2025
  • Information form containing the different project members and including the curriculum vitae of the applicant
  • Motivational letter (max 1 page)
  • a summary in abstract format with a maximum of 2500 characters (including spaces) for possible publication in the Belgian Journal of Hematology

* applications in French or Dutch are acceptable, but the abstract/summary must be in English

Who can apply?

The candidate must fulfill all criteria below:

  • be a member of BHS and a natural person
  • Young hematologists (<35 years) or hematologists in training who are MD and are within 10 years after MD graduation
  • may not be an employee of the pharmaceutical industry

Which projects are eligible?

  • Innovative projects which are dedicated to enhancing patient care (e.g. screening, diagnosis, treatment decision-making, and follow-up) by leveraging advanced technologies. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics has opened new avenues for transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes. Therefore, projects utilising AI or big data are of particular interest.
  • Projects should be carried out in the hospital or outpatient setting (but with a link to the hospital).
  • The project must not be directly linked to the use of a specific pharmaceutical specialty.
  • The project must be carried out in compliance with the Protection of Privacy Law.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be informed non-selected projects from previous years may be resubmitted if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Evaluation criteria

  • Relevance and impact of the project in the improvement of lymphoma patient care (50%)
  • Originality of the project in terms of the proposed theme (25%)
  • Feasibility of the project (20%)
  • Relevance of the budgetary estimate (5%)

The Prize awards

A prize award of 20.000 euros each will be offered to the winner.

Please note that the prize money cannot be allocated to fund a salary.
